OPINION: An Idaho Attorney General transition that courts danger
As far back as I can remember, transitions in the Idaho Attorney General’s office have been rather seamless and non-political. I informed the entire staff that anyone who was doing a good job for the state would have a place in my office. And that is how it was with those who preceded me and those who followed.

Idaho GOP may place more restrictions on primary voting
New rule would bar voters if they’ve been active with other parties in past two years
Idaho’s primary election is, essentially, the whole contest. With partisan divides that strongly favor Republican candidates, the majority of campaign spending happens in the months leading up to primary elections, and Democrats do not even run for office in many districts.

OPINION: Will Dr. Jekyll or Mr. Hyde control the soul of Idaho’s Republican Party?
The serious split in the personality of the present-day GOP in Idaho was demonstrated in two articles that recently appeared in the media. The Kootenai County Republican Central Committee, savoring its evil Mr. Hyde persona, announced on Dec. 8 that U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) would keynote its Lincoln Day Dinner in February. The very next day, Rep. NIC TRUSTEES: Goal is to lose accreditation
With the new motions to install Macomber and remove and place the current president of NIC on leave and re-install the inept Sebaaly shows the board of trustee members sponsored by the KRCC have only one goal: To lose accreditation for the college.

OPINION: American fascism
We see the effect of perspective even in our local paper. When liberals interrupt, yell insults, try to force and agenda change and pull the fire alarm twice at an NIC Trustee meeting the headline is “Sebaaly turns down trustees” but when conservatives concerned about mask mandates in schools gather outside the school district building the headline is “CDA school board meeting disrupted, then canceled.”

State’s control limited at NIC
Next trustee meeting rescheduled
Though state-level leaders are closely watching the chaos at North Idaho College, they have limited control over the college’s operations. “It is unfortunate to see the college experiencing turmoil amid an ongoing investigation into its accreditation — which would significantly impact current NIC students, businesses and the entire region if lost,” Madison Hardy, Idaho Gov. Brad Little’s press secretary, said in a statement Wednesday. Comments from Little’s office came after three fiery meetings of the NIC board of trustees held last week.
