HAYDEN and NIC: A great loss and a mess

Please allow me to comment on several items. John Young is one of the good guys. I have known him for many years and his word is golden and there is no replacement for him on the City of Hayden Urban Renewal with the level of experience and integrity he has.

Many of us asked the voters to vote three people onto the NIC Board and the people only got two and we have the same mess we had before the appointment of three straight shooters. David Wold, M.D., John Goedde and Pete Broschet. Thank you for your leadership. We are back to the old 3/2 split on the board now with Tarie Zimmerman and Brad Corkill trying to protect the college community with no help from the other three.

Many voters are not interested in NIC at all, and asking them to vote to protect NIC and accreditation is like preaching to a choir that is tone deaf.

Let us hope Mike Gridley is able to proceed with his law suit. As former city of Coeur d’Alene City Attorney, he understands meeting laws and as a taxpayer has standing to bring the lawsuit.
