POST FALLS — Corey Symons notched his 200th victory at North Idaho College coach as the Cardinals routed Southwestern Oregon of Coos Bay 126-75 in the opening game an NWAC Crossover tournament at The Arena on Friday.

The Cardinals are 200-34 under Symons, in his ninth season as NIC coach.

"The nice thing about basketball is, it's such a team sport," Symons said. "I've had a lot of good players come through the program. The next call I'm going to make is to Coach G (George Swanson) at Evansville; he was with me for 190 of those. I've got to call coach (Jared) Phay (the previous NIC coach), who gave me an opportunity, and call (former athletic director) Al Williams and thank him for hiring me."

Freshman Cobi Campbell scored 29 points in 25 minutes on 10-of-11 shooting for North Idaho College (10-0).

"Cobi Campbell has been playing unreal," Symons said.

Friday and Saturday’s games were moved to The Arena due to NIC hosting the Tri-State Invitational high school wrestling tournament. Sunday’s games will be at NIC's Rolly Williams Court.

NIC plays Olympic tonight at 7:30, and Green River on Sunday at 2.
