Ali Carpenter

College of Idaho volleyball

Carpenter, a 5-7 junior libero, was named to the 2022 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete team, announced on Tuesday. Carpenter averaged 2.52 digs per set with a season-high 24 against Northwest on Nov. 4. In order to be nominated, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 and have attended one full year at the school.

Taryn Riley

College of Idaho women’s basketball

Riley (nee Soumas), a 5-foot-3 guard from Timberlake High, had 17 points and four assists for the Yotes (5-1) in a 71-59 win over Division III Willamette last Saturday in Caldwell.

Ashley Kaufman

Central Washington volleyball

Kaufman, a 5-foot-8 junior outside hitter from Lake City High, was named an All-American honorable mention by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). Kaufman was the top hitter for the Division II Wildcats (17-11). She posted 321 kills (3.00 per set) in 28 matches started and 107 sets played. She added 288 digs and 36 blocks. Kaufman finished sixth in the GNAC in points and kills. In addition to this honor, she was named AVCA All-West Region First Team and the Great Northwest All-Conference First Team.

Sara Muehlhausen

Lewis-Clark State women’s basketball

Muehlhausen, a 6-foot-3 senior post from Lake City High, had 16 points for Lewis-Clark State in a 70-61 win over Walla Walla on Nov. 22 in Lewiston in the Cascade Conference opener. Muehlhausen has started all five games for the Warriors, averaging 9.6 points and 6.2 rebounds per game with a team-high 15 blocked shots.
