NIC: Where are we going?

I think we really need to look at the future goals of the current college board, which seems to be closing the college so expensive, exclusive housing can replace our beloved college.

Otherwise, why would this board be so intent on causing the college to go bankrupt and without accreditation?

It appears the insurance for the college is gone due to the removal of the last college president and the suspension of the current president without proper notice.

Accreditation is about gone which will be followed by a decline of student enrollment leaving the college in a more dependent state.

Is there a benefit to people on the board to gain the land for new developments? I believe the board’s goal is not for the best interests of our college or even for control of the buildings but to take the land. This would be a disaster because not only would our college be lost but taxpayers would have to foot the bill for infrastructure of any new development.

Is it that the board sees the highest and best use of the college grounds as town houses with valuable southern exposure facing the river. Those of us locally won’t be allowed access to the gated community.

I’m also concerned that our development-friendly city council might not even grace us with a walking path in the area. It’s past time to make changes to the college board and legal counsel.
