OPINION: Just like everyone else, Idaho’s Attorney General must comply with the law
Three years ago, I joined five other former Idaho Attorneys General in describing that important position as “the …
SCOUTS: Survey raises suspicions
Survey? What survey? I have been active with Scouts over the last five years as part of the council, popcorn sales, and as a den leader and I find it odd that I was never given the opportunity to participate in a s…
EDUCATION: Jobs, not degrees the goal
Regarding Idaho Education Resource Guide, wow! What a fantastic piece of journalism. I read every page and was impressed with each.
MOVIE: Blackout angers 'Red Tails' fan
The George Lucas movie "Red Tails" opened nationwide last Friday.
FANS: Where art thou, school spirit?
Reading Hazel Bauman's mea culpa about the Post Falls/Coeur d'Alene basketball game reminds me of Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing."
DE-ICER: Been there, quit that
I was bragging on Facebook about our local Idaho resourcefulness concocting the sugar bi-product/salt de-icing mixture, saving $27,000 per year. My know-it-all nephew responded that Ohio, Indiana and Michigan had p…
MORMONS: Christians to the core
I would like to correct some information provided by a citizen from Hayden in her letter "OBAMA: This time, he might be right," on Jan. 18. The Mormon, Mitt Romney, running to become our next president, is a devout…
PATERNO: Good man done wrong

MARINES: Discipline, then cheer them
Kudos to Robert Hunt's and Ian Johnson's opinion/letters regarding the Marines' action toward their conquered foe. Although the action itself is not encouraged, nor condoned, WHERE are those who are offended when t…
HERON: Help it make Cd'A home
It's a new year for the city of Coeur d'Alene ArtCurrents art-on-loan program. Last year feedback on the ArtCurrents program was overwhelmingly positive and attracted many visitors from out of town to view the on-l…
MORMONS: Get facts, then write
Why are some people so anxious to spew venom on a subject of which they know nothing? Such is the case in the letter written by Laura Diteman.
BCS: Time for an investigation
After watching the national championship football game between Alabama and LSU one could come away with the feeling that the BCS as a cartel is a complete, but powerful, joke. Are we to believe that LSU going into …
