BCS: Time for an investigation
After watching the national championship football game between Alabama and LSU one could come away with the feeling that the BCS as a cartel is a complete, but powerful, joke. Are we to believe that LSU going into the game was ranked No. 1 in the nation? Did anyone but me notice the continuous deer-in-the-headlights look in the eyes of quarterback Jordan Jefferson of LSU?
Having said that I offer a challenge to Mr. Nelke and Mr. Elliott of the Coeur d'Alene Press. Take an in-depth investigative piece as to just who makes up the Bowl Championship Series. I am speaking of exactly who these people are and specifically how their decisions are arrived at. I believe that Boise State or Stanford would have taken LSU to the woodshed. Recalling Lou Holtz speaking on national television two months ago stating that Boise State could play any team in the nation. The investigative piece should include the names of BCS board members along with their affiliations and connections to the SEC.
Please include the exact computer program used and how it works, remembering the old adage, "garbage in, garbage out." Taking on this task would contribute greatly to the understanding of the politics of the Bowl Championship Series and the corruption therein.
