OPINION: Just like everyone else, Idaho’s Attorney General must comply with the law
Three years ago, I joined five other former Idaho Attorneys General in describing that important position as “the …
CONSUMER: Help appreciated
I want to thank you for publishing “The CDA Press Consumer Guy.” He was a big help to us to get the money for our refrigerator back.
GUNS: One year later
So, it’s been almost one year that permitless carry became the law in Idaho. I remember the complete and utter blind hysteria from the left at even the thought of law abiding citizens carrying firearms in the city …
AFGHANISTAN: A dead end
Afghanistan is a geographic area; it is not a nation. The government in Kabul is run by non-ethnic Afghans, who are Tajiks. The Taliban are Pashtun, who are ethnic Afghans.
CALIFORNIA: Been there, love this
Excellent My Turn article in the paper June 24. It addresses things I see everyday driving around the area. Bottom line: Have patience and show kindness.
DMV: Wait for it
I arrived at the DMV in Post Falls at 8:30 a.m. Monday. I remember reading the office was new and had been improved. So I thought it would be faster.
BILL: Review time imperative
This should be Standard Operating Procedure in our government, supposedly a government by and for the people — 30 days to review a finalized proposed bill instead of “Here it is right here, vote now.”
CDA: Over-charging county?
I could not be more disappointed with the Coeur d’Alene city staff. Charging the county $264,000 for permit fees is excessive at best. Article seven paragraph 10 of the Idaho Constitution clearly states that one ta…
CARTOON: No laughing matter

CALIFORNIA: Comparing values
In response to the “My Turn” item by Bob McAdams:

How sad that Mr. McAdams, President of the Garden District, is allowed to continue to spread manure on people he chooses to profile as outsiders. The Coeur d’Alene Press has pushed this anti-California agenda for y…
RANGE: A job well done
To all shooters at the Hayden shooting area: John Kester accomplished in one day what I have been working toward for the last several years. I look forward to meeting with him to personally tell him, “Thank you and…
IRONMAN: 70.3 is best
Thank You Ironman! Everyone involved over the years has been very supportive, from the chamber to the city to the merchants, spectators and volunteers.
NEWS: Here's a real story
What determines “news?” That is the question we had Monday, June 19 and we doubt we were alone in finding it lacking of news worthy of publishing. A Day with the DEAD… been far too many tragic deaths in recent days…
IRONMAN: Hope for future
It is no secret having Ironman in this town has changed the lives of most people here. When Ironman arrived 14 years ago, it put Coeur d’Alene on the map forever. It created a strong sense of excitement each year a…
TUBBS: A view of blue
During my 50 years in Coeur d’Alene, I have hiked Tubbs Hill at least 1,000 times. Each time I am refreshed and energized by my Splash of Blue. This comes from walking next to the lake and seeing the waves splash o…
