CDA: Over-charging county?

| June 28, 2017 1:00 AM

I could not be more disappointed with the Coeur d’Alene city staff. Charging the county $264,000 for permit fees is excessive at best. Article seven paragraph 10 of the Idaho Constitution clearly states that one taxing district cannot profit from another taxing district.

Yet the ego of Coeur d’Alene seems to think they can. I’m sorry but the jail is far more important than your ego. I am grateful however for the job your chief of police has done. He’s pushed the nastiest of citizens to Post Falls. Now if Post Falls could push them to Washington, there would be no need for a jail. That hasn’t happened so we must spend tax dollars on the expansion of the jail.

I went to a Coeur d’Alene council meeting, but chose not to speak in public on this topic.

I asked quietly and responsibly and got nowhere so here it is: Show me the actual cost of making the permit or give the money back to the county. It’s the law.

Thank you for your prompt attention in this matter.
