CALIFORNIA: Been there, love this

Excellent My Turn article in the paper June 24. It addresses things I see everyday driving around the area. Bottom line: Have patience and show kindness.

I, too, am a California transplant of 45 years. I was raised in Southern California and the move here was the best decision ever. My children couldn’t play outside for three months because of the smog! And when we drove the hill on I-90 and saw Spokane, we had to pull over and stop to take in the beauty of the blue sky, mountains and no traffic! At that moment I decided “this is home” and it will be til I die.

So please don’t bring your attitudes here when you come. Welcome!
