GUNS: One year later…

| June 30, 2017 1:00 AM

So, it’s been almost one year that permitless carry became the law in Idaho. I remember the complete and utter blind hysteria from the left at even the thought of law abiding citizens carrying firearms in the city without a permit.

There was rabid speculation that shootouts would instantly break out in the streets and innocents and children were in immediate danger of being caught in the blazing cross fire.

To my knowledge, Coeur d’Alene has not turned into the new Old West Dodge City or O.K. Corral. I haven’t heard of gun fights over a minor fender bender or late night drunken shootings as the bars close. I was assured these things would happen and violence would rule the day in the Lake City.

So what really happened? One year later, I hope the Coeur d’Alene Press will update us with the real facts and statistics of permitless carry.
