SANDPOINT — Taylor Woolley hit two home runs in the first game, and was the winning pitcher in both games as Lakeland swept Sandpoint 20-13 and 16-1 on Tuesday at Travers Park to break a tie between teams who began the day tied for first in the 4A Inland Empire League.

Soup, bread add up to holiday cheer

Many offices hold employee potlucks but sampling wonderful homemade soups and breads goes for a good cause at the Kootenai County Administrative offices. The 12th annual Soup and Bread Contest took place at lunchtime on Monday. There were 54 soups and 26 breads entered and almost 200 people paid $5 to taste to their tummy's content.
