OPINION: Just like everyone else, Idaho’s Attorney General must comply with the law
Three years ago, I joined five other former Idaho Attorneys General in describing that important position as “the …
PRESS: Praise for editorial
We applaud The Press for your strong, decisive, pro-active and positive editorial Wednesday related to vaccines.
TRAINS: The sound of a nightmare
I recently moved to Post Falls. I was not warned about the train horns in the middle of the night. Some trains go by without blowing their horns at all but others seem to really get their jollies by waking everyone…
ELECTION: Vote for responsibility
Idaho’s working families want to take responsibility for their health, but they need affordable options. The new health care law provides tax subsidies for middle income residents, but 70,000 lower income working I…
VETS: Thanks to Buck Knives, donors
On Oct. 4, veterans who served a minimum of one tour in Iraq or Afghanistan with the 141st Air Refueling Wing, Washington Air National Guard, were presented a total of 42 Buck Commemorative Knives for their honorab…
PRESS: Exposing censorship
The recent editorial entitled, “Exposing a sick society” that was published Wednesday made me wonder if the Coeur d’Alene Press has lost the true understanding of the First Amendment. This editorial went out of its…
ANGELS: Carry gas cans, smart phones
On Thursday, Oct. 2, I was on my way to church to do some volunteer work and I ran out of gas. I am a 72-year-old widow and I live on a monthly Social Security check. This happened the day before my check was due. …

RULING: How wrong you are, governor
Thank you, Mr. Otter.
DEER: Deal with problem rationally
In response to “Dalton deer drawing danger:” As a 20-year DG resident, I’ve seen the after-effects of predators coming into our community many times, but the prey weren’t usually deer; they were domestic chickens a…
CONCERT: Blown away by the noise
Thank you Kootenai County Fairgrounds for being so considerate to your taxpaying neighbors. That sorry excuse for a concert you ran on Oct. 4 was way over noise limits. My home was shaking for three hours. But I’m …
FLU: Wishing it on a writer
In rebuttal to Wesley Ewers’ letter on Oct. 1: First of all, you are dead wrong. I almost died from the flu a few years ago. Since then, I faithfully get a flu shot every year.
RULING: Governor, justice got it right
I want to thank you Justice Kennedy for standing up for our moral and constitutional rights. Gay marriage is between a man and a woman. It will always be no matter what law they want to pass. It doesn’t make it so.
