OPINION: Just like everyone else, Idaho’s Attorney General must comply with the law
Three years ago, I joined five other former Idaho Attorneys General in describing that important position as “the …
SNOW: Hidden dangers
Vicki Syth lamented a citation given by the ISP for a “rear” license plate covered by snow. While a warning may have been in order, I want her to understand the dangers posed by road debris covering vehicles.
DELAVAN: Good man gone
I can only classify the act of terminating Greg Delavan from his job at the airport as cowardly as both exiting commissioners only have a few days left on the job. I would like to ask both Dan Green and Marc Eberle…
SHOVEL: A little mercy, please
Sam Taylor, deputy city administrator, insists that the sidewalks need to be cleaned. I was wondering if the city can afford to show a little mercy in this area. After all, it is winter time, and when it gets down …
THANKS: Lovely in letters
Does anyone write thank you letters these days? I mean good, old fashioned thank you letters that one has to pen in his/her own handwriting, put in an envelope, lick the seal, put postage on it and drop it in the s…
POLICE: Lax on red lights
As a former police officer (20 years ago), I am disturbed by the Coeur d’Alene police force and the city workers. I can’t count the number of times I have had to drive through broken glass from a traffic accident b…

TICKET: Just not right
I would like to know why on the worst snowfall of the season so far, an ISP officer decides to issue a ticket for a rear license plate being covered in snow. A young kid working and paying bills and gets a $67 tick…
RESPONSE: It's a deal
DAN: Do you promise, really promise that you won’t write any more letters until what you predict about Trump’s cabinet comes to pass in reality, not in your own mind but in reality? Please do, as we all will apprec…
MAIL: Keep it public
2017 will again be a challenge for the United States Postal Service. Let’s again “Think outside the Mailbox” while still using the same principles that make the U.S. Postal Service user friendly for all Americans a…
