PUPPY: What goes around

On Oct. 6, in front of a 7-year-old child, Megan Renae Smith allegedly reached into the rear window of a car and withdrew a puppy, then proceeded to raise the puppy over her head and with both hands forcefully threw the puppy to the ground. Smith also allegedly kicked and punched the puppy.

I have an 8-pound poodle and if I even step on her tiny little foot, it breaks my heart. The puppy was returned to the home of the abuser. What in the hell is the matter with the person that allowed this to happen? I’m outraged at the plea bargain offered to Smith. If she accepts, the state will recommend a suspended jail term and two days on the sheriff’s work program. What a slap on the hand that would be.

Is this justice? I don’t think so. I truly believe child abuse begins with animal abuse.

Megan Smith, I also believe in karma.
