RELIGION: Bigger questions
I recently passed a local church that proudly boasts to be part of the religious right, who supposedly helped Donald Trump and the Republicans gain control of all three branches of our government. There were severa…
SOLVENCY: Story of states
I’ve been mulling over a letter that appeared earlier in the week about states deemed to be financially solvent, or not. Listed were some red states, actually quite a few.
LDS: Voting across spectrum
I take issue with Steven Reynalds’ characterization of politicians who lean to the “right” as being “pushed” by the “Mormon Church” (proper name is The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints).

LIBRARIES: Spending priorities
I read the opinion May 17 piece by Michele Veale entitled “The True Value of Libraries.” I know Michele, since I also served as a Community Library Network Trustee and yes, our libraries should be liberally support…
LIFE: Builders and wreckers
My mentor impressed on my then young mind that in the world there are only two kinds of people. BUILDERS and the ever-present destroyers, called the Wreckers! The object of the latter is to destroy every good thing…
