Three years ago, I joined five other former Idaho Attorneys General in describing that important position as “the …
ELECTION: Hope hole not too deep
Rep. Minnick, I'm happy to read that you are "looking forward to spending more time in the Idaho backcountry, floating rivers and hiking mountains." I'm going to spend more of my time struggling to keep my business…
Balance the budget: It's the law, Mike - Guest Opinion
Mike Ruskovich would have your readers believe he strokes that long white beard and just like "Abe" comes out with inarguable statements. I think this beard has shades of gray. Attacks on the qualifications of elec…
YOUTH: Experience Oct. 31 a real treat
The event I am going to relate may not mean much to most, but to me it means a lot. In my previous profession my interaction with most young people was not a pleasant one. I was told we probably wouldn't get many c…
HART: He's in the wrong house
Jim Hollingsworth took time from his busy schedule to let us know he believes Rep. Phil Hart was targeted by a write-in campaign because he is "probably the most consistently conservative member of the state legisl…

While it's still fresh in our minds, let's recall the campaign promises we heard to transform Idaho into a forward thinking clean/alternative energy state and remind the governor that allowing Southeast Idaho Energ…
INSURED: Analogy of federal spending
Aren't you sick of all the political advertising that has been going on for weeks. Hopefully now it's over for a while. Now we can return to the "Ridiculous Auto Insurance Company Commercials" now being broadcast o…
ECONOMY: Best to buy American
Republicans-Democrats, it really makes no difference. The only way to improve this nation's economy is to start buying American-made products again. Go into a department store and tell them you will buy a 50-inch T…
ELECTION: Letters show great divide
WOW! The election is over! Thank goodness, since I think we all were weary of the campaigning. I would like to comment on the past few months coverage in the form of letters to the editor in The Press.
