Trustee to take office
Coeur d’Alene school district board meeting Monday
A mother of four Coeur d’Alene School District students will take the oath of office to serve the district as the newly appointed trustee for Zone 3 at the board meeting Monday. Heather Tenbrink received majority board approval on Nov. 15 to take the place of former Trustee Tambra Pickford who resigned on Oct. 1. The meeting will start at 5 p.m. at the Midtown Center Meeting Room at 1505 N. 5th Street in Coeur d’Alene. Seating capacity is capped at 72 per the Fire Marshall. Experts coming to CDA next month to investigate leadership concerns
After a second complaint, the accrediting organization for North Idaho College is planning an onsite inquiry to the college to review the situation in January. The Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities said in a letter to the college that based on the analysis of alleged facts, “NIC’s ability to maintain compliance with the United States Department of Education’s regulations, and Accreditation Procedures is of concern.”

From Dean of Health Professionals and Nursing to Vice President for Instruction to Acting President, Lita Burns has worn a lot of hats at North Idaho College. “I have really good memories of connecting with students to help them be successful,” Burns said. “The faculty and staff here are incredible people.” Now after 20 years of service, she decided it’s time to retire from the school she so loves.
