TRUMP: Positively praiseworthy
President Trump has recently returned home from what is the most inspirational, productive trip abroad for an American president in recent memory — a far cry from Obama’s first (but not last) “Apologetic Tour” for …
CIVILITY: An unlikely example
There is a lot of this “We hate Trump or We Love Trump” that I read in The Press. How about printing what Ted Nugent said? He backed off, and said that he regretted asking Mr. Obama to “Suck on my machine gun.” If …
SITE: A municipal gift
I have enjoyed reading the recent articles and letters to the editor regarding the proposed acquisition of the Stimson Lumber mill site along the Spokane River. I love the notion of a “Splash of Blue” to remind us …
2030: A blue vision
Walking by the beach. Paddling the river. Catching a fish. Your splash of blue is brought to you, in part, by the foresight of community leaders who adopted a vision which states, “In 2030, greater Coeur d’Alene ha…
LETTERS: Name-calling begone
Reading the paper Sunday, June 11, in the Readers Writer section — I just don’t understand why people can’t state their opinions without name calling and derogatory statements. It just amazes me!

I would like to thank Congressman Raul Labrador for helping my uncle, Ed McGee, die with dignity.
MONTANA: Where men are men
A pushy, wimpy reporter recently experienced culture shock when he pushed a recorder in the face of an alfa male from Montana. When a man, not a weak-kneed liberal, tells you to back off, you should do as you are w…

Bev Moss recently wrote a My Turn column on the proposed acquisition of the Stimson Lumber site along the Spokane River. The city of Coeur d’Alene is considering the purchase of this land. Bev brought to our attent…
POLITICS: More work needed
We see the same old whining about religion and politics, the losing party blames their loss on everyone, first one and then the other. Congress and the House gets $174,000 and spend all their time accusing each oth…
