CHICKENS: Cuts fully explained
In a wonderful March 2 front-page article on poultry production by Alecia Warren, it was noted that Deirdre’s position at the local Extension Office had been eliminated due to budget cuts. While I appreciate the ca…
LEVY: Why you should vote 'no'
I’m new to Coeur d’Alene. After a career in the military, I taught high school for five years. For 30 years, I’ve studied how most all districts refuse to improve. Every district in America claims academic good new…
TREE: Find way to let it live
Shame on you city council and the LCDC for once again removing a small piece of history for “progress.” The slated “killing” of the freedom tree is uncalled for. Remember, the people paying the designers/architects…
LEVY: Vouching for a strong district

TREE: It can't beat man, asphalt
As Doug Eastwood has stated several times, it is a wonder that our Freedom Tree has survived because it is surrounded by so much asphalt. The answer is simple. THE FREEDOM TREE PERSONIFIES THE HEARTS OF THOSE WHO P…

RACISM: Here's one way to see it
Cudos to Mr. Robbins article on black and scary. I’d like to add a couple of ideals. He left out B.E.T.( black entertainment) If we had a W.E.T (whit entertainment channel) we would be prejudice or racist. If we ha…
FOOD: Donor's offer rejected
I just read Brian Walker’s story on food banks and I don’t believe it. Just last week I tried to donate 50 pounds of potatoes to the Rathdrum food bank and they said they didn’t want them. When I was young we somet…

The citizens of Idaho voted down the Luna laws, Propositions 1,2,3, because they realized that they were nothing more than a western omelet made with rotten eggs. Having talked to hundreds of parents, educators and…
