PRECINCT: Tale of two candidates

I don’t care whether a local candidate supports “Sleepy Joe” or “Defendant Don.” I want to know what he or she has done for this wonderful community.

INITIATIVE: Reasons to vote it down

ELECTION: Something to believe in

I guess I’m proud to be a RINO or at least the way the current leadership of the KCRCC defines it.

RATING: Look at the bottom line

I am grateful to S. Schad for describing the KCRCC “rating and vetting” process. It seems very thorough, and I commend KCRCC for going to the effort. It is a fine thing that KCRCC works hard to identify conservative Republicans.

FOOD: Leave a bag by your mailbox

Bless the letter carriers who are having their annual food drive this weekend. I hope people will hang a bag of food by their mailbox to be given to our local food banks.

HOUSING: Can’t pin blame on Joe

One letter writer blamed the housing inflation on Joe Biden. It’s ridiculous to blame one man for especially our local housing costs. It’s not just that folks are moving here in droves. It’s that very rich folks are moving here in droves. They’re rich enough to pay high prices, in some cases, “name your price” amounts, to get land on the hills, build expensive houses/mansions, pay the prices.

The Friday, May 2 opinion by KCRCC chair Brent Regan is yet another hit piece that is short on facts but long on misinformation.

ZAO: We need a doc in the house

Every once in a great while, a candidate emerges who is head and shoulders above the field, and especially above her opponent. That candidate is Cheri Zao, an Idaho native, reared in Alaska, received her medical training in Texas, and returned to Idaho decades ago to practice medicine.
