Coeur d'Alene man sentenced for 'lie and buy' gun crime
COEUR d’ALENE — Alex James Spooner, 23, of Coeur d’Alene, was sentenced to 15 months in prison for unlawfully acquiring a firearm, U.S. Attorney Bart M. Davis announced. Spooner was sentenced by United States District Court Judge David C. Nye. Spooner was indicted by a federal grand jury in January.

In support of Mr. Cliff Bowman's letter Nov. 10, I'd like to stress how important it is for us to buy and insist on American products. Our politicians won't do a thing to help this situation since the Asian countries spend millions of dollars in lobbying efforts to stop any kind of tariff put on the foreign goods. We as Americans must do that on our own.

The First Amendment addresses freedom of the press, speech, religion, etc. Censorship does not allow books to be published or circulated. No one is pushing for censorship. We do object, however, to having our tax money used to buy porn for libraries. Let the parents who want this type of material for their own kids go spend their own money to buy it.
