My Garden Path

I'm seeing a lot of dry spots in lawns. With a week and a half of over 90 degree days, it is understandable. If there are no nearby trees, some extra water will usually bring the lawn back. But, if there is a large tree near the spot, suspect it. Trees are survivors. If they get too dry, they will suck the moisture out wherever they can get it.

ARFEE: All deaths diminish us

I agree with the many writers who have expressed the killing of Arfee is not equal to the millions of babies who have been killed since Roe v Wade was made law. However, I fail to understand why we can’t be concerned with both. As human beings we should be more concerned with other human beings but it does not mean we should exclude all else. I believe we have room in ourselves to be concerned with many causes.

Bird Aviation Museum lands at new location

HAYDEN — The Bird Aviation Museum and Invention Center is landing at its new home at the Coeur d'Alene Airport and is expected to open Saturday. A Facebook update from the museum states that the WACO and Chipmunk aircrafts were flown from the museum's previous location at the Bird Ranch in Sagle earlier this week. Everything went well.
