What can be done for itchy ears?

Ask your audiologist…

The ear canal is a warm moist environment perfect for growing fungus or infections. If your ears itch it is most likely due to dry skin or otitis externa. Otitis externa is an infection of the outer ear canal usually caused from swimming (same as swimmers ear). A drop of alcohol after swimming will help dry out the ear. If you are not a swimmer and have dry ears there is nothing wrong with putting a little lotion on a cotton swab or your fingertip and applying it to the outer ear (do not push anything down into the ear canal). If the itch is deep within the ear canal I recommend using audiologist's choice anti itch cream or just regular hydrocortisone cream. You can purchase this cream from most hearing professionals for about $10 a tube and it will last a long time.

PHOTO: Wrong way, movement

I thought the photo of #MeToo fashion show showing a woman chained to a man with a pig face was inappropriate. It appears the people responsible for the fashion show have their own agenda rather than coming up with solutions for workplace abuse.

Your perfect Christmas wine

Like we always say the wine you choose for your holiday gatherings is very personal like all things wine related. What you and your family like, what you will be serving, whether it is a full blown dinner or just a party where wine will be served as an aperitif all influence your tastes and decisions. There are some standard main courses and appetizers though where classic pairings make the choices easier. Here are some of our favorites that we serve at this festive time of year.
