OPINION: Just like everyone else, Idaho’s Attorney General must comply with the law
Three years ago, I joined five other former Idaho Attorneys General in describing that important position as “the …
ARFEE: You call this training?
We all go through some kind of training. Four-year apprentice program, 2-, 4-, 6-, 8-year college-university, some kind of training to get into the workforce and then continue to learn on a daily basis from there. …
BOMBED: Putin an ideal target
Shoot em’ down. Why don’t we send some more planes for Putin to shoot down? It doesn’t matter that they didn’t know what plane it was. You don’t shoot down any planes, and Obama just says “now Putin, you mustn’t do…
ARFEE: Fatal shot echoes still
Let me see if I understand this correctly: A cop approached this van with his gun drawn. The windows were rolled half down with a “black Lab” inside that was apparently barking at the officer. The officer claims he…
SIDEWALKS: Cd'A can do better
My husband and I recently moved to this lovely town, and have enjoyed getting to know the neighborhoods walking a couple of miles a day with our Scottish Terrier. We especially appreciate the local coffee houses, B…
VANDALS: Director has losing record
I have been an avid University of Idaho fan my entire life. The last few years have been very difficult for all Idaho alums due to the complete and total failure of our athletic program, or at least the sports that…
TAXES: Here's a waste on wheels
I was once a Bonner County resident and now am a Kootenai County resident. I would like to think that every person that lives in their own county would like to know that their tax money is being used for the benefi…
ILLEGALS: Ship the children home

OBAMA: Message down in flames
Recently a Malaysian airplane was shot down by a Russian missile killing all 298 people aboard. The next day, July 18, President Obama addressed the American people and the world offering words of concern, sympathy…
NONINI: Just lost a voter
Regarding the reply letter from Mrs. Nonini to the veterans rep: This was childish. I have voted for him in the past, will never again. Once elected he is supposed to represent all of this district, not just those …
TRIBUTE: R.I.P., Michael Marceau
Michael Died The Other Day
POLICE: And now, some good news
Most people have heard the old saying, “There are two sides to every coin.” In recent events, the press has not been examining the shiniest side of the Coeur d’Alene Police Department. However, I would like to brin…
NONINI: Apology called for, Senator
I am shocked and disappointed after reading “Nonini Response Shocks Veterans” in the Coeur d’Alene Press. What happened during this past primary election has NOTHING to do with supporting our veterans. I feel Senat…
CRISIS: Center's cheers and boos
Much ado has been made lately about the Mental Health Crisis Center going to Idaho Falls rather than to Coeur d’Alene. The center would have provided coverage to two health and welfare regions and seven legislative…
