SIDEWALKS: Cd'A can do better

| July 30, 2014 9:00 PM

My husband and I recently moved to this lovely town, and have enjoyed getting to know the neighborhoods walking a couple of miles a day with our Scottish Terrier. We especially appreciate the local coffee houses, Bakery by the Lake, the Fort Ground Grill, and the establishments downtown for the water dishes.

As luck would have it, when our niece was visiting while walking on Lakeside behind the new “Crafted,” I tripped on the sidewalk, fell, cut my eyebrow and now have a “shiner” to boot. There are too many broken sidewalks in disrepair. I know that the lovely old trees have been the cause of a lot of this, and we do appreciate the “sidewalk fairy” who paints the cracks in bright yellow or orange; that really helps. But walking up 11th from the lake, or down Mullan to the library, are pretty challenging to say the least.
