OPINION: Just like everyone else, Idaho’s Attorney General must comply with the law
Three years ago, I joined five other former Idaho Attorneys General in describing that important position as “the …
SHELTON: Recall is for a reason
The recall of Chris Shelton didn’t start with “a small and vocal minority ... about a proposed fee schedule.” It did not even start over the fee schedule. But the fee schedule Chris and the Chief proposed at the Ap…
VOTE: For principled people
Principles count! I’m a retired Air Force officer who was privileged to serve our Country at home and abroad. I was also privileged to have a second career serving impoverished elderly people and people with disabi…
COUNTY: Elect these candidates
Wow, what a shock. Greg Delavan, the Airport Manager for Pappy Boyington Airfield fired! Tondee doesn’t have a clue what he’s doing. To have a good, viable, community airport requires a good plan that not only safe…
VOTE: But do homework first
Please read the factual data from the NEA website about how Idaho schools REALLY rank. Don’t believe all the Democrats tell you: We are not the 49th lowest and we are not the highest. They would have you believe th…
RECALL: Shelton does good work
I support Mica Kidd Island Fire District Commissioner Chris Shelton and encourage a vote against his recall. I live in the district and I am a current Volunteer Firefighter for the district.
RECALL: Remove Chris Shelton
Vote FOR the Recall of Chris Shelton. Mr. Shelton has openly complained that the public had not been attending MKI meetings. Now that citizens are, he doesn’t like what they have to say and he is doing everything i…
VOTE: Against the liberals
I read the letters that flow into this newspaper on a regular basis. Some are so pathetic I skip them. I find that most of those I skip are from those who are so in lust with themselves or their party, or their cau…

STONES: Careful where you aim
Mr. Hedman, people like you are the reason I wrote my last letter. What gives you the right to judge me by making inferences that I do not believe in the Bible? Then you compare homosexuals to thieves. Come on, the…
FREEDOM: Must apply to everyone
I love free speech. Many of us do not realize it but often when we try to convince others of our point of view, the opposite happens. The current subject of gay marriage is a good example.
EDUCATION: Key to Idaho's future
Sholeh Patrick’s “Without Education, Democracy Can’t Survive” was a soothing breath of fresh air as I experience my first election season as an Idaho resident. Our most conservative candidates invoke the Constituti…
AIRPORT: Got some explaining to do
Several recent articles have showcased how valuable the Cd’A Airport is to the county, bringing millions of dollars in revenue into the county. Then we hear that KMPO “was blindsided” by the planned airport expansi…
DARK: Doesn't mean sex offender here
Oh great! Now if our porch light is off tonight our neighbors will be wondering if we’re sex offenders? What if we’re not home? If we’re sick or invalids? If our religion doesn’t recognize Halloween? If we don’t ha…
