OPINION: Just like everyone else, Idaho’s Attorney General must comply with the law
Three years ago, I joined five other former Idaho Attorneys General in describing that important position as “the …
TRUMP: Apply the sniff test
Myth has it that Hercules, upon first seeing America’s Republican Stables, took just one look, one sniff, threw up his arms and walked away.
BOCC: Serve the people
Recently, I have been purging my files from the last 15 years of work in Kootenai County issues regarding land use, and it never ceases to amaze me, the more things change… the more things stay the same. Those plac…
SHUTDOWN: Compromise, or extortion?
How did we get to the shutdown and what compromises do the parties want? Before Christmas, the Republican Senate passed a bill to keep government open until February so immigration issues could be worked out (again…
TIME: It's biblical science
Earlier this month we celebrated the beginning of a new year: 2019. Where did we get that number?
WALL: The sense of security
To George Ives: I respect your willingness to do the research but I ask, wouldn’t the loved ones of those lost to illegal immigrant murderers (Kate Stinely, Ronil Singh, et al.) feel quite differently about the def…
SCHOOL: Later is a loser

WALL: May sense prevail
Mr. Trump insists that terrorists, drugs, villains of all stripe, are a national emergency threat to our country, and a wall will put an end to that possibility.
SENTENCE: Judicial incompetence
Regarding the recent decision by District Court Judge Scott Wayman with defendant William Swan, I am completely astounded by the sentence. Probation for felony DUI/manslaughter?
RESPONSE: Trio of complaints
In response to three recent writings in the Coeur d’Alene Press, I just couldn’t go without commenting.
LETTER: Prove it
I read the letter to the editor from Allen R. Mazur (Jan. 11) and am livid at the hypocrisy he demonstrates, so typical of Democratic logic, which isn’t logical at all! He is asking that you, the Coeur d’Alene Pres…
