RESPONSE: Trio of complaints

| January 16, 2019 12:00 AM

In response to three recent writings in the Coeur d’Alene Press, I just couldn’t go without commenting.

First, commissioners up their information game. Wow, their last hurrah before leaving office. You hire Plouffe, a public safety analyst from Chula Vista, Calif. What a load of garbage. Another excuse to raise taxes! Our population has doubled since 1991, where is the revenue from all the new residents? We do not need Californian’s injecting their opinions into our way of life, that’s why we live in Idaho.

Second, Mr. Mazur I have read more than 10 complaints from you about President Trump in about one year. President Trump won the election, time to move on. You are a whiney liberal who needs help with your obsession. Shame on you Allen Mazur for bashing President Trump over and over again.

Lastly, housing woes hamper seniors. This subject is getting old! I have brought this up in prior comments in The Press. Taxes on homes we have worked our entire lives to be secure in our retirement are out of control. Seniors are being forced out as Social Security can’t keep us afloat. It’s time seniors be exempt from school tax and levies if they so choose, an exemption allowed in other states. We personally are paying more than $1,800 per year in school taxes, that’s $150 per month! That extra income to a senior can make the difference between affording food or prescriptions, something essential to our survival. We have paid our dues, enough is enough.
