OPINION: Just like everyone else, Idaho’s Attorney General must comply with the law
Three years ago, I joined five other former Idaho Attorneys General in describing that important position as “the …
TRUMP: Impeach the elites
I watched and listened to the opinions from the four law professors during the judiciary hearings. I was so very impressed by three of them who felt well-informed, educated and unbiased in their opinion that Trump …
TRUMP: Attacks are malicious
These are all too familiar verbal attacks against Donald Trump: assassination, blow up the White House, take him out of the White House in handcuffs, punch him in the face, hit him with a club, etc. But, perhaps mo…
CRIME: Sometimes it pays
Is it ever OK for your police department to not enforce the law? Apparently the Coeur d’Alene Police Department thinks so.
CIVILITY: It's alive!
Just the other day, as I entered the doors of a local store and glanced around for an electric cart, I saw that there would be a wait. I am 87 years old and walk with a cane. Those little electric buggies are a gre…
SUICIDE: Invest in prevention
Art Macomber’s My Turn on Nov. 29 is asking, “Why do people kill themselves?” There are as many reasons as there are people who do this, some of which Mr. Macomber has listed.
CANCOURSE: Speak up now

TRUMP: Seeking fair coverage
I’m new to the Coeur d’Alene Press. Overall, I’ve found the articles interesting and informative. But like Jerry Weaver (who sent in a letter on the World/Nation section), I too have found the titles and gist of th…
HOUSING: Headed toward homeless
I am an Idaho native and my grandparents homesteaded off Weir Road. The county spelled it wrong; it is supposed to be Wear. We moved back up to this area from southeastern Idaho because the taxes were getting so hi…
SUICIDE: Unanswered questions
I woke up last Friday morning after having dreamed about an old boyfriend I had when I was 16 and loved him as much as a 16-year-old heart could love someone. In my dream we spoke and I asked him, “Why on Earth did…
