GIVING: No place like home
It’s time to say thanks to the fine folks of Kootenai County.
The Pappy Boyington Detachment of the Marine Corps League reached out a short time ago for help. We needed funds and toys to fuel our Toys for Tots Program this year… and help we did get, in spades.
The generous people of this area poured out their hearts and pockets in donations, toys and volunteered to help pack bags, move toys and a number of chores we needed accomplished. As a result, we were able to help 701 families through the program. We gave bags of toys to 1,555 children and gifted 7,625 books.
As I’ve said before, I have lived all over the world but this community is the most caring, compassionate and giving that I have ever seen from Press Christmas for All, Toys for Tots, Veterans Stand Downs and a host of others.
I picked up The Press on Saturday morning and marveled at all the photos of companies, organizations, etc., with their checks to worthy entities. With all this said from the bottom of my heart and the Pappy Boyington Marine Corps League, a hearty Thank You and a Well Done.
