KCRCC: Here’s why change is warranted
Much has been said by acolytes of the KCRCC extolling the virtues of its process for “rating and vetting” candidates. Little has been said regarding the process’s shortcomings.
MEDICAID: A big win for all Idaho
It was a great day for many in our state when the Idaho Legislature adjourned and not only left Medicaid expansion in place — as clearly intended by Idaho voters — but actually extended benefits to new mothers for …
NOEM: The story of dogs and abortions
This is simple to differentiate between sense and Democrat.
ELECTION: Vote opposite KCRCC mailer
Let’s use common sense, which apparently isn’t so common.
HOMES: Preserve our local history
It is very upsetting to see the old beautiful homes and buildings being torn down in Coeur d’Alene and replaced with modern apartment buildings and townhomes.
PRECINCT: Failure of a smear tactic
I am running as a precinct committeeman in Precinct 510 representing the Idaho Republican Party during the primary election on May 21.
NIC: Can’t shop for accreditation
I don’t know what Don Thompson found so offensive on the NWCCU website in his recent letter to the editor. Perhaps reading through the website would help understand the purpose of accreditation standards and the ro…
PATZER: Best choice for precinct position
We are writing in support of Dave Patzer. As a lifelong resident and long-term resident of Kootenai County, we have had the opportunity to witness Dave’s unfaltering commitment to Coeur d’Alene. His honorable servi…
GRADUATES: Message from an ORAG
Dear Kootenai County high school graduates, As you jump into your future with your graduation I would like to ask you to take a look at service: Service to your country, state, county and communities.
RATING: There’s poison in the process
I want to thank Stephanie Schad for her description of the KCRCC’s process of rating and vetting of candidates (My Turn, May 2). In it, she reinforces the reasons why so many find the process to be such an unreliab…
TURNS: About those yellow lines
In response to George Peterson’s letter on May 3 about illegal left turns across double yellow lines. I haven’t driven that road in a long time. However, it’s NOT illegal to cross a double yellow line when turning …
PRECINCT: Tale of two candidates
I don’t care whether a local candidate supports “Sleepy Joe” or “Defendant Don.” I want to know what he or she has done for this wonderful community.
KCRCC: The choice is yours
Every Friday, Brent Regan’s column serves as a reminder that the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee’s chairmanship matters — perhaps too much. If Brent’s columns don’t resonate with you, there’s a straigh…
INITIATIVE: Reasons to vote it down
Idaho currently prohibits (HB 0179; passed March 28, 2023) Ranked Choice Voting (RCV), but some of our more liberal friends are trying to change that fact.
ELECTION: Something to believe in
I guess I’m proud to be a RINO or at least the way the current leadership of the KCRCC defines it.
