MLP all over, again
Although Mrs. Language Person was a stellar typist on the click-and-stick machines, her fingers slip on the smaller laptop keyboard. Not-so-thoroughly Modern MLP uses Spellcheck like most computer users, but she mustn't rely. Machines can not think as well as their creators, so far. Hence "the growing problem of grammar and spelling errors," according to Coeur d'Alene High School English teacher Royce Johnson:

Laptop questions
Superintendent Tom Luna's post-legislative tour passed through Cd'A Monday bringing together education leaders from throughout the region. I read the article but did not see references made to the implementation of the bill relating to the purchase/issuance of laptop computers to the ninth-grade students. Since this must surely be an item of significant budget impact, I was surprised at the lack of coverage relating to its implementation.

MY TURN: Keyboard experts, go home
I would like to thank and commend the CDA Press for not jumping on the national media circus wagon coverage of the tragic quadruple homicides in Moscow. Solving REAL crime, as opposed to solving REEL crime, like CSI & Blue Bloods, does not have to be solved in the 42 minutes of the show. All these out of town media keyboard experts, with little, if any REAL world experience come in here and spout this theory or that theory without regard to what they leave in their wake.
VETS: Here's a call to duty
Veterans need our help. They need craft supplies, money, anything we can help with. You may donate blankets for those in wheelchairs, DVDs, CDs, good music, keyboards, yarn, cross stitch and needles and things that go with it. Posters — anything that is good.
Laptop questions response
In last week's My Turn, Mr. Larson expressed several questions regarding Senate Bill 1184 of the Students First legislation. There still remains many unanswered questions at this point, but I would like to share some of the information the district has received so patrons, parents, staff, and students can begin to build an understanding of the intent and guidelines provided in this ground-breaking legislation.

Ergonomic advantage with chiropractic corrections
Prolonged sitting and improperly fitted workstations are contributing to increased neck and low back pain in the workplace. Proper posture and positioning, often referred to as ergonomics is one of the most important elements that is often overlooked by many healthcare providers. It is extremely valuable as an evaluation tool because improper posture and positioning can be a contributing factor to underlying problems and can delay recovery if not corrected.
