Sales still strong, price declines slow

It's hard to believe the year is 70 percent passed already. Judging from our trends so far, the local real estate market may be headed for greater stability. On the heels of steady declines, first the 16 percent in 2008 followed by the 14 percent in 2009, declines in most of the area served by the Coeur d'Alene Multiple Listing Service have slowed.

POTHOLE: Bad spot in Rathdrum

The entrance to Rathdrum Post Office has had a large pothole for over two months. I asked why they do not fill it as it can throw auto tires out of alignment and damage tires. I was told we do not own the building; it’s not our responsibility. I asked who owns the building and has responsibility and was told I don’t know. Typical government response.

Republicans-Democrats, it really makes no difference. The only way to improve this nation's economy is to start buying American-made products again. Go into a department store and tell them you will buy a 50-inch TV IF they can sell you one made solely in the US. You won't be buying a TV.
