A do-ahead breakfast to bake while you celebrate
With all those presents to open, nobody wants to spend Christmas morning in the kitchen. So to keep you where you belong on the big morning, we created this easy raspberry and cream cheese stuffed breakfast biscuit that is fast and easy to assemble. It also can be prepped a week or more in advance, then frozen. Just bake it Christmas morning right from the freezer.
Living well with chronic disease is attainable
HAYDEN - With self-management, most people with chronic conditions such as asthma or fibromyalgia can live independent, fulfilling lives. A little training is all that's needed.
Mother, can I? You may.
Mrs. Language Person, that snitty (disagreeable) old bitty (i.e. crazy or lame, elderly woman who is out of touch with the world yet thinks she knows something relevant and feels compelled to share it), draws more attention with her language columns than she anticipated. Our fall recommendations
Sitting in our kitchen this morning we noticed the color starting to show in the leaves of trees and plants around our yard. The breeze has freshened too and gone are the smoky 90-degree highs, replaced with some rain and afternoon temperatures in the 60s. Yep Fall is here! With it our wine tastes change a bit add in all the great new things we have tasted recently and it is time for a recommendation column.
Worms, foil-wrapped grub and outdoors insight

Feeling good about what you buy
I saw an opinion piece recently regarding sports. The gist of the opinion was it is tough to cheer for a team when they decide to employ someone who is far less than likable. I agree. Whether it is sports, a business or the wine you drink we all want to feel good about whom we are supporting with each of our hard earned dollars. The old adage “people do business with people they like” extends to all things including sports and wine.
Keeping the joy in whole-grain holiday baking
When I was 5, my mom invited a bunch of my kindergarten girlfriends and their moms over for cookies, cocoa and caroling to celebrate the holidays. That tradition turned into an annual holiday ritual, and I grew up equating the holiday season with massive amounts of baking, particularly cookies.
Smooth move
I'm sure you know that old trick about freezing bananas that have seen better days. You hold onto them until the banana-bread bug bites you bad, and then you embark on a marathon baking session. Well, I'm a devotee of this method - it's as if the freezer performs some magic to transform fruit that looks too ripe to even touch into an exotic delicacy.
Layers of research
I can't remember when I baked my first cake.
