HORTON: Keep a good judge going
Our existing Supreme Court Justice Joel Horton is a native of Nampa, Idaho, and has given 28 years to public service here in the Gem State. He served as deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Ada and Twin Falls counties, Deputy Attorney General, and as an Ada County magistrate. Governor Phil Batt appointed Justice Horton as a district judge in 1996 where he served until 2007 when he was appointed by Governor “Butch” Otter to the Idaho Supreme Court. In making this appointment, Governor Otter said of Justice Horton: “His insightful legal scholarship, keen intelligence, integrity and independence make him a great asset to the court.”
