AVERY: Gem State gem

It was with great joy that I read the Dec. 7 article about an essay submission by 12-year-old Avery Fudge. BRAVO! He’s a beacon of hope for the future when we’re so often stunned by the bleak news of the present.

Kudos as well to Avery’s parents and teachers for fostering his talents, drive and insightfulness. It’s likely we’ll be reading more about Avery and his eventual accomplishments. If we’re fortunate, he’ll remain in North Idaho where our region will benefit from his endeavors.
