OPINION: Just like everyone else, Idaho’s Attorney General must comply with the law
Three years ago, I joined five other former Idaho Attorneys General in describing that important position as “the …
RIGHTS: Praise the defenders
Sometimes we or at least I don’t really appreciate the work that others do on our behalf. This is the case of our own Tony Stewart. While watching a documentary on Idaho Public Television “Color of Conscience,” I h…
HOME: Good place to be for holidays
I was particularly struck by a line from the “Black Friday sales fall as more people shop early” article in The Press. It said, in part:
MILLIE: Show some dignity
Well, well, well, it seems “MS Millie” is just a sore loser. Instead of taking her “trashing” like she deserves, now she’s just being plain old MEAN!
GROUPS: Two that enhance N. Idaho
Moving to Idaho I expected new adventures, friendships and enjoying what life offered. In 2003 I joined the Red Hot Mamas created by Mikki Stevens. This started a whirlwind of fun and friendship. With this group I …
MILLIE: Guilty of a snow job
OK Millie, quit painting all of California with your anti-Idaho brush. You want to talk snow? Snow near Tahoe has architects and engineers designing roofs for 400 pounds per foot snow loads. In Post Falls, 40 pound…
STEVES: Traveling down wrong road
I didn’t finish reading Sholeh Patrick’s article on Rick Steves’ Holy Land travelogue. Rick Steves is a big advocate to legalize marijuana. Go to the archives of The Seattle Times, Nov. 3, 2012, and The Oregonian, …
SHADOWS: Shed light on white
In response to Tony Stewart’s article “Stepping Out of the Shadows,” I beg to differ with his opinion. The white conservative ratio to minorities whether they be LGBT or nationalities is not such a bad thing for Id…
LETTER: Pushing back vs. liberals
The letter from Luanne Melior alluding to discrimination against Joan Harman is hypocritical hogwash.
HOME: Not where this heart is
My husband and I moved here from California six months ago to be closer to our daughter who is expecting our first grandchild. We purchased a home in Post Falls that appeared to be the perfect home in pristine cond…
MILLIE: Return to your toilet
Poor Millie. It wasn’t enough for you to insult the city of Post Falls, and the state of Idaho. Now you’ve started insulting the residents as well. So I have two questions.
MILLIE: Pity her palpable reproach
I feel sorry for Millie Hayes. Her palpable reproach for Post Falls is a vague disguise for some other insecurity; perhaps she cannot afford to live in (or return to) California.
RIGHTS: A time to speak up
I think in my 57 years on this Earth this is my second letter to the editor, but there comes a time when you just have to speak up. In response to a letter from Joseph and Carla Lininger bashing the Coeur d’Alene P…
POLICE: Blessed are the body cams
The body cams that citizens have recently been demanding that police officers wear may very well turn out to be an officer’s best friend — and a suspect’s worst nightmare.
PRESS: Buried important news
Reading through Friday’s paper, I saw many articles that true to this Thanksgiving season made one be thankful for so many blessings we’ve received. Then I came across way back in your paper, last article of the la…
MOBS: Consider real roots of hate
I am from the Bronx, and I was there to witness the 1977 Blackout looting and riots. As a result, I loathe and detest mobs, believing them to be a unique form of collective temporary insanity. Members of a mob are …
