MILLIE: Guilty of a snow job

| December 5, 2014 8:00 PM

OK Millie, quit painting all of California with your anti-Idaho brush. You want to talk snow? Snow near Tahoe has architects and engineers designing roofs for 400 pounds per foot snow loads. In Post Falls, 40 pounds per foot has people shoveling rooftops and has been an anomaly recently.

There are California counties with several thousand and a county with more people than Oregon and Washington combined.

Everything Millie hates Idaho for can be found in California. The three sunbelt states of California, Texas and Florida are the biggest for a reason.

But what can’t be found in Idaho is a reason for our young people to stay. Idaho and Wazu are terrible in sports for a reason. They can’t recruit sunbelt athletes to our frozen Palouse tundra.

But we educate our kids who head for the sunbelt states like the other frozen “I” states named Iowa and Indiana do.

Maybe the “me, myself and I” approach to our economy is the real freeze. Not just the weather.
