VETERANS: Congress, please show you care
It has come of a common opinion amongst Vietnam War Veterans that Congress tends to exclude mostly Blue Water Vietnam Veterans for VA benefits. This group of veterans never had boots on the ground in Vietnam, yet j…
VETERANS: Plate fee is 'excessive'
I was very surprised that no one commented on Alan Frederick’s letter regarding veterans’ special license plates. I, too, recently sent for veterans plates. I wasn’t surprised when there was a $25 charge for the fi…
ANCHOR: House is still a home
I was delighted to read Steve Woodworth’s “My Turn” column in the Press Friday, June 5, and relieved to know that Anchor House and Idaho Youth Ranch are not folding their tents, but realigning their services to bet…
POLL: A very good question
The cdapress.com poll says that 75 percent of those polled believe our state government is either too conservative or run by idiots. My question is, who voted for them?
CLIMATE: Hot under the collar

To the people of Coeur d’Alene,
FIRING: More like distraction
Let me get this straight, The Press found out that Tondee got fired from a little bird. I bet that little bird is Stewart, whose timing is interesting. I guess he wants people to forget that he took campaign money …
TOWER: Question of city power
In reference to Hagadone wanting more of Coeur d’Alene. We all call it Haggyville now, so what would be the difference? Don’t we all know we couldn’t live without Hagadone running our town. Maybe we should change t…
RATHDRUM: Leave the mountain alone
Rathdrum Mountain has been here a lot longer than those who now talk of changing it to their own ends. Leave well enough alone. As a former City Council member this project was looked at in the ’80s and scrapped fo…
