OPINION: Just like everyone else, Idaho’s Attorney General must comply with the law
Three years ago, I joined five other former Idaho Attorneys General in describing that important position as “the …
THANKS: For unexpected gift
Just wanted to send a huge thank you to the party that delivered an anonymous Christmas card to me on December 11th. Your words moved me to tears. It has been a challenging year and a half for myself, and my family…
RATHDRUM: Good work, city
I thought I would take a moment to comment about winter in Rathdrum. First, my neighborhood roads are always plowed before I go to work, which is early. And I must say the city does an outstanding job of decorating…
TAXES: Cut by consolidating
I hope the state of Idaho and local cities and counties can cut taxes on many items to lessen the burdens on Idaho residents. One thing I’ve seen in another state I lived in, tax breaks that saved its citizens larg…
MUSLIMS: Trump ... is right
Political correctness or common sense? Lately much controversy has been stirred up over comments Donald Trump made concerning denying entry to this country by ALL Muslims. The other candidates shamefully fall over …
BIAS: Few letters criticize Clinton
I guess Mr. Gressler is feeling good about his little digs at me. I will admit he got his ammunition by a mistake I made in the letter he is referring to by not mentioning Hillary Clinton. I did not mention her nam…
KNIGHT: Should run for president
Keith Knight of Hayden Lake is the sort of man I would vote “President of the United States.” Thank you, Mr. Knight, for your insightful words. You speak out where others are afraid, and you speak the hard truth. Y…

GUNS: 'No fly' won't fly
So my anti-gun activists think that anyone on the “no fly list” should be prevented from purchasing a weapon, and that this would make us safer. This is a liberal, emotion-driven argument. Take a step back, take a …
TAXES: Ease by consolidating
I hope the state of Idaho and local cities and counties can cut taxes on many items to lessen the burdens on Idaho residents. One thing I’ve seen in another state I lived in, tax breaks that saved its citizens larg…
ANGELS: Visit woman twice
There are angels in this city. I’ve always known there are more great, honest, caring people in our community than bad. Twice in two weeks these “angels” appeared.
TOWER: Build on east Sherman
Mr. Hagadone’s proposed new hotel tower is honestly not as ugly as many of the critics make it out to be. Truth is that it is simply out of place. The current downtown hotel is beautiful and castle-like, as if out …
THEFT: Merry Christmas, indeed
I have lived in the Fieldstone Subdivision in Post Falls for almost six years. I have never had any problems and have found it to be a nice place to live. I was saddened this past summer when someone came right ont…
