OPINION: Just like everyone else, Idaho’s Attorney General must comply with the law
Three years ago, I joined five other former Idaho Attorneys General in describing that important position as “the …
DOGS: Leash the beasts
A letter to the bike riding couple with their off-leash dog on the trail at Lake Coeur d’Alene on Saturday, April 2. I truly hope this couple reads this, but maybe it’s a lesson for all dog owners.
HILLARY: Reasons to reject
Dear Mr. Bourget, you stated in your article and I quote, “Despite more than 30 years of lies and smear tactics, she is the leader for the Democratic nomination.” Hey, that is actually “right on,” but does it only …
RIGHTS: Partisan misses mark
In the March 30 edition of The Press, letter writer Jeffrey Harrison criticized Syd Albright’s article about African Americans. Mr. Harrison slammed Republicans for not supporting civil rights.
ELDON: Sentence is unjust
I read with consternation and sadness about Eldon Samuel, 16, being sentenced to 20 years in prison for killing his father and brother, particularly since he has been a model prisoner for the last two years.
BIKES: Not in Wilderness
Riding a bicycle is fun. Many people learn to do it at an early age and it’s something they usually never forget. Hence the popular phrase, “…like riding a bike.”
FUHLED: I'm not laughing
Friday’s headline in the Post Falls Press was more than distressing. Yes, it was April Fool’s Day, this was not at all funny. Waking up to a cup of coffee and the paper Friday morning was completely distressing. As…
FUHLED: Latest was best
Just a quick thanks for the very clever April Fuhl’s Day story. Best yet. I laughed out loud. Again today as I remembered April’s furst story, when we were really fooled trying to turn to find the missing “continue…
HILLARY: Integrity still matters

BERNIE: Only way to go

UYLESS: Sorry for the typo
Mr. Mutton is correct about my mis-typing the year 1965 for the Gulf of Tonkin attacks. I made an entry error, compounded by a proof-reading oversight. The correct year was 1964. Obviously, I was well aware of the …
FUHLED: And loving it
OMG! I loved your headline and article! I was into the third paragraph before I figured it out and laughed out loud. I’m sure the respective City Halls took their share of grief from people who either didn’t “get i…
ZAGS: We was robbed
On March 25, Gonzaga played “secure” in the Sweet 16. We all know what happened.
GOP: Here's what's repressive
This letter is written in response to Mr. Harrison’s letter of March 30, in which he referenced repressive Republican regimes multiple times. I’m sure he is referring to the onerous requirement to show a government…
OBAMA: Plotting third term?
We see the homeless shelters closing their doors stating they can’t afford it, but on the same token look at the influx of illegals, they find money to support them.
GUNS: Carry these questions
As a former law enforcement officer, I have to agree with the sheriff and police chief. This new gun law is stupid and dangerous.
