McEUEN: Make room for archery
The planners of the McEuen Field remodel have overlooked the possibility of giving us an outdoor archery range. Golden Gate Park in San Francisco has a decades old, unsupervised archery range adjacent to the park g…
McEUEN: Launch needed for access
As a local resident and avid boater, I am surprised the city would even consider taking away our valuable Third Street boat launch. Access to the lake is already so limited; the Blackwell Island launch is only acce…
TAXIS: City plan more dangerous
My name is Lisa Ursich. My husband and I have a business downtown. It has come to my attention that there will be a taxi pick-up location at Fourth Street between Sherman and Front Street. There will be no more tax…
LEVY: Perspective leads to support
After 19 years working as a librarian in the Coeur d'Alene School District, I am preparing to retire in June. From an open, centrally located library, my unique perspective has allowed me to observe the amazing thi…
ALERT: CEO bonus season approaching
How can we stop outrageous CEO bonuses? Top executives are raking in breathtaking sums of money while they lay off thousands of workers. The more workers that are laid off the bigger the bonus.

This is the latest headline: Pelosi: ‘We Have No Regrets' About Debt Piled Up Over Last Four Years.
McEUEN: What took so long?

SPENCER: Aiming at wrong target
In response to Mr. Spencer's letter in the Jan. 7 Press. I think some clarification is in order regarding Rep. Eric Anderson's house and development project at Priest Lake. Mr. Spencer states that Mr. Anderson purc…
LEVY: Error misleads voters
I appreciate this week's editorial "Listen first, decide later" and feel we have done a solid job reporting to the public significant budget cuts we have made. Sometimes we're unlucky in getting the word out.
INFLATION: Worse than feds portray
It is beyond me why the government would lie to us about inflation. If this was figured as it should be, you owe us about 4 percent COLA for the last three years, or 12 percent increase. This is all political balon…
