TAXIS: City plan more dangerous

My name is Lisa Ursich. My husband and I have a business downtown. It has come to my attention that there will be a taxi pick-up location at Fourth Street between Sherman and Front Street. There will be no more taxi pick-ups allowed at any of the Coeur d'Alene downtown bars between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m.

The problem I see with this is when you make it inconvenient for someone who may be intoxicated to get home they are more likely to drink and drive rather than walk to this location to possibly wait in a line for a cab. Taking away the curbside convenience especially in these winter months can result in many more DUIs or, worse yet, a fatality.
