OPINION: Just like everyone else, Idaho’s Attorney General must comply with the law
Three years ago, I joined five other former Idaho Attorneys General in describing that important position as “the …
FEDS: That money is ours
This must be just another case of ignorance at work. I can’t believe you would print false information. Do you not check your article for truth? Especially an “editorial?”
BASEBALL: Play at high schools
Here’s a thought… Why can’t we simply choose to operate the American Legion baseball programs within our cities’ pre-existing, paid for facilities at Coeur d’Alene and Lake City High Schools? Both offer ample parki…
MARRIAGE: Going toward destruction
Did Sodom and Gomorrah allow same-sex marriage? We know by reliable source that homosexuality was practiced fully in both cities. Perhaps they had moved beyond any pretense of marriage. Without the possibility of l…
OBAMA: One desperate man
President Barack Obama would not apologize to Mitt Romney because one of his campaign personnel called Romney a “felon.” Mitt Romney’s response was “Obama is a man who will do and say anything, including demeaning …
HYMNS: Thanks, and come join us
I would like to thank the Kroc Center and Majors Ernie and Juanita Clevett for the monthly hymn sings that they have organized and led over these past few years. Today there are fewer opportunities for people to si…
BYWAY: Plan on more problems
After watching the construction of the south approach of the Sand Creek byway for month after month I am not at all surprised that it developed cracks. The method of construction was very strange.
OBAMA: He's building a mess

UNIFORMS: Board can multi-task
I respond to Noelle Branen’s letter castigating Coeur d’Alene School Board trustee Mr. Purtee for suggesting consideration of school uniforms. Ms. Branen thinks Mr. Purtee and the school board should focus solely o…
WOLVES: Killing them is wrong
The “harvesting” of 379 wolves by hunters, trappers and ranchers, instigated by the Idaho Department of Fish and Game (and politicians led by Gov. Otter), amounts to nothing more than the tragic, senseless slaughte…
USA: Lacking true leadership
In response to the overwhelming political opinion that is being thrust on to me by the news, family and friends I just want to ask one question: When in the last several decades did we lose the focus of what is goo…
BILL: Just say no to trapping
I am writing to voice my strong opposition to HJR-2, a constitutional amendment the Idaho Legislature is putting on the ballot this November, guaranteeing the rights of Idahoans to hunt, fish and trap. I hope many …
FARRIS: Who he really is
Terrible things are found in that place filled with fear. For me, that place was in a 20-foot trailer parked on an abandoned mountain road as my brothers and I were huddled around a kerosene lantern praying to God …
OPINIONS: Don't forget some facts
Please educate yourselves before writing an opinion, an informed opinion holds much more clout than a rant. Living in the rightest and reddest state in America carries a lot of privileges and freedoms that I covet,…
