AMAZED: Gift touches the heart
The evening of Feb. 29 I sat by myself in a booth in a Post Falls restaurant eating while reading a magazine. A lady and, I presume, her 7-8-year-old daughter, stopped by my table and the daughter very politely offered me a small paper cutout portrayal of Yellowstone National Park with two trees and a bird which she had colored with Crayola of which she was justly proud.

My garden is exploding! Tomatoes that generally begin turning green around the middle of August are ready to eat this second week of July. The rocket, which some refer to as arugula, offered two cuttings of the spicy lettuce and begins to bolt. The zucchini is quickly outgrowing its bed and I am overwhelmed with jalapenos and sweet-hot peppers.

We have lost a wonderful and generous man in the recent passing of Alvin S. Hanson. He had no enemies. His handsome smile, gentle spirit, quiet humor, integrity, and loving nature made him only friends. On May 3, 2015, Alvin Hanson, affectionately known by most as Al, passed away peacefully after courageously battling a three-year war with cancer.
