TAXES: Wealthiest should pay fairly

The Bush tax cuts for the wealthy must expire. Those tax gifts do cause deficits because they are not paid for. They bring in only 15 percent of the GDP, which is the lowest since WWII, and that added $2.6 trillion to the deficit, according to the Congressional Budget Office.

'Clean Me Up' with Biofeedback

Quantum Biofeedback is a process of voltermetric comparison of the body's reaction to more than 11,000 known components. In these reactions we can determine areas of stress in the body. Stress can be caused by being out of balance. Our bodies have an amazing capacity for adaptation, but stress left unresolved may cause the body to create a "bypass" of energy to function "normally." With a new injury it can produce increased pain but over time that pain may dull and become constant. Our bodies adapt, but with consequences.

ABORTION: Need justice for all

In recent weeks we have been treated to numerous Press articles in praise of certain individuals covering themselves in glory for their efforts to ensure that “Equality applies to EVERYONE,” “justice for ALL,” etc. Christie Wood and Tony Stewart, speaking for the Kootenai County Task Force on Human Relations Board of Directors, on June 1: “As members of the human race, each of us is constantly in the process of establishing our legacy when we are no longer here. We will be remembered and judged by future generations based on our respect and fair treatment for each of our sisters and brothers.” Mayor Sandi Bloem was moved to issue a formal proclamation honoring this sentiment.

I am writing this letter to the young Americans who graduated from high school this year.  Congratulations on your accomplishment! You have the right to be proud, and I know you are looking forward with excitement to the next phase of your lives.  Now I have a challenge, and an opportunity, for you.  I challenge each one of you to make a small sacrifice for our great nation — join the military.

JUDGE: Mom's verdict unflattering

Honorable Watson, NO honor in your decision! Judge Watson was the presiding judge over our son’s divorce. Divorce is never easy. However, they have no real property or children and both were amicable on what they wanted and agreed upon. Her attorney from day one has been non-responsive to our son’s attorney or the courts. This easy divorce has taken almost four years (again no children or property). Finally, last summer the divorce decree was signed by Judge Watson, and my son’s retirement which is not much was divided amongst them as agreed.

BINGHAM: Man of action

Bob Bingham is a servant leader who cares about our community. For the last several years, he has invested his time and energy for the betterment of our county. Bob is a man of action. While most of us just complain about issues, Bob actually DOES SOMETHING. When a storm hits and trees block the road, Bob rolls up his sleeves and clears the road for his neighbors. When electricity is out, Bob loads up his truck with supplies and helps those in need.

DALTON: Traffic trouble ahead

In response to The Press article of Jan. 26 titled “A road runs through it.” I was at the Jan. 24 meeting at Dalton Gardens City Hall. I observed our mayor was present and two city council members were also present at the completely packed house with very concerned residents of Dalton about this unpopular Fourth Street project.

NIC: Encourage legislators to pass bill

A few days ago I felt like there was a beam of sunlight cutting through the dark cloud that has been hanging over our beloved community college for far too long. Rep. Lori McCann R-Lewiston and a member of the Idaho House Education Committee introduced a bill that could resolve the horrific situation that currently exists.

FAMILY VALUES: Democrats don’t have them

I keep reading with amazement how our Democrat, and some Republican residents, just can’t vote for Trump because he lacks their “high family values.” Where have these people been living these past four years under a Democrat president and Senate? Have they not noticed what the Democrat leadership “high family values” are and what’s happening in our country?

Effects of Vietnam War still felt today

The recent article from Uyless Black titled “The Bureaucrats of War” caught my attention and I felt compelled to write a follow-up response. First of all I would like to thank Uyless Black for his service to our nation, for his article, and for openly discussing something that is understandably difficult for our nation’s veterans to stomach. Perhaps that is why this subject is so rarely discussed.
