DOG: Life's a beach
It would be wonderful to have access to a “water park” for our dog! We took Yoda to a “leash free doggie beach” in San Diego in 2014 and he LOVED it! He and the other dogs had so much fun splashing in the water! Would love to have something similar close to home because he truly enjoys playing with other dogs at the regular dog park.
PETS: Suffering shouldn't be option
I was shocked and disgusted to read the front page story of the dog that was found half dead and had to be euthanized. Who would allow an animal to suffer like that? Who would ignore an animal in need?

It didn’t take Derrell Hartwick long to offer a few thoughts on why people are moving to Idaho in record numbers.

The cost of eating 'bad' food
As I write today, I am saddened. My sweet dog is in the veterinarian hospital, struggling for life. At 6 years old, it is not expected. She ate a mushroom or something moldy and has mycotoxicosis, and her tremors and seizures are so bad that they don’t expect her to live. Why do animals eat things that are bad for them? Why do we humans eat things that are bad for us? Especially things we KNOW are bad for us? Like sugar.
RESPECT LIFE: That includes swans
Please explain why would someone want to kill a beautiful swan?
The hidden dangers of salmonella infections
Humans typically avoid raw foods because of the risk of developing a salmonella infection, a common bacterial disease that harms the intestinal tract. While humans can be infected with salmonella more easily than animals, there is still a risk of pets developing the infection as well.

Morison remembers Tarzan, the Thin Man and Sherlock Holmes
According to the 2010 U.S. census, less than 0.02 percent of Americans live to be centenarians. Actress Patricia Morison joined that exceptionally rare group last month when she turned 100.

People tell me all the time that it’s harder to train people than dogs, and they’re absolutely right. Training humans requires just as much skill and appropriate anticipation as any dog, if not more so.
The Commonsense Dog
Finding tangible dog-training advice is more difficult than ever. There are so many opinions and labels out there that the average dog owner can become overwhelmed, and even worse, be made to feel like a bad pet owner for not following a specific ideology.
McEUEN: Please keep it pristine
Kudos to the city of Coeur d’Alene for the new McEuen Park. Living in North Idaho my whole life, this was the first time I have ever had a reason to go to McEuen. My family and I took our three grandsons on Mother’s Day to enjoy the new play area and sunshine. The park was packed and filled with laughter as the children ran through all the areas playing in the sand, climbing rocks or swinging on the swing sets.
