GROWTH: Not a positive to everyone

When I glanced at the picture on the cover of the North Idaho Business Journal I thought it was just a stock picture of some town in California. When I looked closely at the picture it made me sad to realize that this was a picture of what Coeur d’Alene is becoming. Do we really want our town to look like Anytown, USA, with housing developments sprawled all over the prairie, and houses and streets that look exactly the same? I don’t know what the answer is but I hate seeing the beautiful town that I grew up in and the farms and green fields become housing developments.

KAEPERNICK: Just say no

Mr. Kaepernick recently received an award from the far-left group Amnesty International. In his acceptance speech, he had nothing nice to say about the USA. Among other things he accused this country of “systematically murdering African Americans” and “enslaving them through mass incarceration.”

DACA: Become citizens

Maybe the solution to the DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) is to require USA citizenship through the usual process. Once each is a citizen, he/she will receive the privileges of citizenship: voting, taxation, a voice with other citizens, and all the rights and importance of being a member of our great country. (See Amendments 14 and 15.) If citizenship is negated by each, then they should return to their country of origin so U.S. citizens do not have to support their lifestyle. Why would each not want to become a citizen, especially since they do not want to be deported?

TRUMP: Presidential persecutor

Trump claims military, police and bikers will respond if you continue to disagree with Trump. Who else will threaten you? Breitbart. Aryan Nations. Tea Party. Stormfront. National Enquirer. KKK. Conservative Contempt Radio. Skinheads. Plus all other neo-Nazis in USA?

USA: Lacking true leadership

In response to the overwhelming political opinion that is being thrust on to me by the news, family and friends I just want to ask one question: When in the last several decades did we lose the focus of what is good for the country in lieu of what is good for the party? I am a registered voter but I have not voted in the last several elections because of the fact that I do not vote per party. I look at what our country needs out of a leader, whether that leader be a Republican or a Democrat, and make my decisions based on that.

DEMOCRATS: Presidential pitfall

I just read the names of the likely Democrat candidates for 2020. It may soon be a cast of thousands. So far, there is about two dozen. Most of this group are quite radical, some are proud socialists. They all espouse frightening and some nefarious ideas of what the USA should look like. The bullet points most of them agree on include:
