POLITICIANS: Time is up

I’m beginning to think the problem with old white male politicians is that they really think they are smarter than everyone else. That would cause them to not listen to those “they serve,” which is everyone of their constituency, nor look for help from good people who really know a topic. They would think they know more than most about things like...the internet and Facebook. They would not even know when they ask stupid questions during hearings.

Does your child have digestive problems?

Some solutions to tummy aches and bathroom issues

If your child is suffering from these problems, the cause and cure is often diet. Consider permanently reducing or eliminating processed foods. They contain a multitude of problematic substances, GMOs (genetically modified organisms), and chemicals, while lacking fiber and nutrients. Instead, use whole, single ingredients to make a meal, for example: chicken, sweet potatoes drizzled with olive oil, and broccoli.

A 'normal' headache

Doctor of Oriental Medicine

It seems unusual today to find someone who does not have headaches. Many consider them "normal headaches." What is a "normal headache?" In my book, there is no such thing. Common, yes. Normal, no. As with many things today, we are confusing the "norm" with "normal." For example, we hear, "it is "normal" to have morning sickness, or heartburn after spicy foods, hot flashes with menopause or PMS during "that time of month." While common, and the "norm" any more, they are all indicators that something is not working "normally," or healthfully.

When pain is a pain

Nobody likes pain, but without this important communication tool, we’d be in big trouble. Pain is an alert system letting us know that something is wrong. Whether it is warning us that we are touching a hot stove and will get burned, or an organ that is in trouble sending out its red flag telling us there is some internal threat going on that needs attention, we’d best heed the warning. But when it is unrelenting, it can be a pain to have pain because it inhibits us in our life.

Alternative treatment for Lupus

Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (aka: Lupus or SLE), is an autoimmune disease that effects the body as a whole. It is a connective tissue/inflammatory disorder that can harm multiple systems such as the joints, muscles, digestion, heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, skin, blood vessels, and nervous system. It is a condition of hyper-reactivity to something by the immune system and is typically treated by conventional medical doctors by suppressing immune function. This may cause it to go into "remission," where symptoms are not so pervasive, however, it does not address why the immune system is responding that way.

Acupuncture and back pain

Back pain is one of the most common health conditions. It has been reported that 80 percent of the population will experience back pain some time in their life. Until fairly recently, it was the number one reason why people sought acupuncture treatments for relief (now the majority of people seeking acupuncture recognize its benefits in treating pain from nearly every cause, digestive disorders, immune disorders, hormonal imbalances, fatigue, etc.).

Can acupuncture really help weight loss?

This is an oft-asked question. “Can acupuncture really help weight loss?” The answer is a resounding “yes!” Acupuncture can help by different means. It is not generally used as a stand-alone approach, but combined with good, sound nutrition, exercise and supplementation with food concentrates, the results can be quite pleasing. But how does acupuncture work for weight loss?

ADVERTISING: Advertorial — Symptoms: Your body’s alert system

Symptoms are not a random set of annoyances, but an alarm system that signals something is wrong. Understanding what the body is trying to tell us, appropriately interpreting a combination of symptoms, and taking action to change it, especially in the early stages, can make a difference in your level of suffering.
